Every nap and night finds our wonderful daughter, Chloe, reaching to cuddle her blanky. It's the perfect comfort for her. We tried several different stuffed animals, and, don't get me wrong, she loves her "stuffies." Now that she's old enough to not worry about having a couple things in her crib, she has filled her crib with her Little Giraffe Luxe Pillow, her Jellycat Bunny and Bear, and at least one blanky.
Chloe has a couple of hard and fast rules that we have discovered through trial and error. Chloe's blankies must be about 12 inches square, have a soft, fluffy center and a satin edge.
The smartest thing I ever did was to buy several different blankies and trade them out. She needs a blanky, but it doesn't have to be a specific blanky. I can't tell you how many frantic mothers I've helped when their child's lovie is missing or destroyed. And sometimes the replacement won't be accepted because it's not as well-loved as the original. Or worse, there is no replacement! I don't have to worry about that. In Chloe's two years, I've lost two or three blankies here and there, but that's OK. And, I can keep one in the car, one in my diaper bag, one at my friends' houses. It's a wonderful comfort for my shy little girl.
Chloe loves the Little Giraffe Blankies (coming soon to the website, but in the store now) and the Bunnies By the Bay Blankies that come with a small stuffed animal inside.
